I began my studies and research because I was experiencing personal health issues.  Now, I’m truly grateful for modern western medicine, as I wouldn’t have lived past 16 without it.  For a critical or acute health crisis, I will always consult my medical doctor. However, if you talk to most MDs, they’ll volunteer that they didn’t receive much or any nutritional training in their many years of medical education. Thankfully, a growing number of Medical Doctors are now approaching their patient’s care in a more holistic manner. However, in many cases there remains a gap where things can fall through the cracks. A rising number of people are frustrated and fear that their symptoms are being treated, without actually discovering the root cause(s) and addressing the issue(s) and/or eliminating the factor(s) that cause and/or contribute to the disease.  So for my own purposes, I started on my personal wellness journey. Over a period of three years, I’ve earned certifications as a Nutritional Therapist, Yoga Teacher and Holistic Health Coach.
With the completion of each, I found myself hungry for more knowledge and found that I was using what I’d learned to help those around me. I’ve now taken my studies further with specialized training to understand the significance of a healthy digestive system and a holistic method to address intestinal permeability, frequently referred to as “leaky gut”. I’m also studying Ayurveda, the benefits of herbs and the critical role of neurotransmitters.  The resulting knowledge obtained through years of study and research has greatly enriched my life.  I’m thrilled to use that knowledge to be of service.  I’ve always loved cooking for family and friends, so naturally I began to take established recipes and make them healthier.  In doing so, I discovered a love for creating nutrient-dense dishes (typically vegan and gluten-free) and share those dishes and recipes at monthly cooking demos.  It was in this process that I discovered and began promoting products that I fell in love with.  Hosting wellness events to introduce both established and new products that I truly believe provide value and I nteracting with people and providing even one tip, trick or tweak that brings them one step closer to their best life is a good day for me.  

The Nutré Holistic Approach

I practice a holistic approach to health and wellness, which means that I look at how all areas of your life are connected. Does stress at your job or in your relationship cause you to overeat? Does lack of sleep or low energy prevent you from exercising? As we work together, we will look at how all parts of your life affect your health as a whole. I will never ask you to provide more information than you are comfortable  sharing.  My highest priority is to make sure you feel comfortable and safe, including providing the utmost privacy and confidentiality.

My approach is not to dwell on calories, carbs, fats, and proteins. It is not to create lists of restrictions or good and bad foods. Instead, I work with my clients to create a happy, healthy life in a way that is flexible, fun and rewarding.

Together we’ll work to reach your health goals in areas such as achieving optimal weight, reducing food cravings, increasing sleep, and maximizing energy. As we work together, you’ll develop a deeper understanding of the food and lifestyle choices that work best for you and implement lasting changes that will improve your energy, balance and health.  As we progress, the very real connection between mind & body, as well as Food & Mood will leave you enlightened and encouraged.  

Integrative Nutrition® Plate
The Integrative Nutrition Plate emphasizes the importance of local and organic produce, whole grains, high-quality proteins, plant-based fats, and water. It shows you how a plate should appear at mealtime and emphasizes the importance of proportions and portion size. To complete the picture, the plate is surrounded with lifestyle factors that create optimal health: relationship, career, physical activity and spirituality. I’ll introduce you to some of the healthiest foods on the planet and teach you how to find what’s healthiest for your unique body!
Primary Food™
It’s easy to overlook all of the things that contribute to our sense of nourishment and fulfillment. It’s not just the food we eat that affects our health, but all of the other factors present in our daily lives. Healthy relationships, a fulfilling career, regular physical activity, and a spiritual awareness are essential forms of nourishment. When these “primary foods” are balanced, what you eat becomes secondary. I will support you in achieving all of your goals, from eating the right foods for your body to living an inspired, fulfilling life.
Crowding Out
Many nutrition experts give their clients a list of foods to avoid and foods to eat, which explains why so many people are turned off by nutrition. My approach is different – by eating and drinking foods that are good for you, you will naturally have less room and desire for unhealthy foods or "food like products". Simply put, you will gradually “crowd out” the unhealthy food options in your diet and replace them with healthier choices… and you may be surprised to realize that these replacements are delicious and oddly more decadent than some of the foods you've replaced. This takes a little practice to make happen, but I will support you all the way.  I don't see this as a challenge, but rather view it as an opportunity to delight.   
 

Bio-Individuality™
The concept of bio-individuality is the idea that each of us has unique food and lifestyle needs. One person’s food is another person’s poison, and that’s why fad diets tend to fail in the long run. Working on the principle of bio-individuality, I’ll support you to make positive changes that are based on your unique needs, lifestyle, preferences, and ancestral background. 
Deconstructing Cravings
Cravings play a critical role in understanding what your body needs and shouldn’t be ignored. When you learn how to deconstruct your cravings and understand what they’re really telling you, you will be able to reclaim a sense of balance and harmony.
